Best Cream Sauce Recipes For Salmon

Salmon With Vegetable in White Wine Sauce

This is truly one of our favorite recipes on our own blog. Daníel Jón Ómarsson, head chef at Hotel Rangá, a luxury countryside resort in Southern Iceland, shared his favorite date night salmon recipe that is fun to throw together for a date night with someone special. We like this recipe because it’s eloquent and elevated. It’s meant to wow your special someone without the heavy feeling after a delicious meal. You’ll feel good, satisfied, and ready to enjoy your date night. Learn how to throw this recipe together HERE.

Pan-Cooked Salmon Fillets With White Wine Creamy Sauce

If you’re someone that believes wine belongs in the kitchen, you’ll love this recipe! It’s speedy, healthy, and super easy to make. It should take you no longer than 15 minutes to have this creamy sauce on your table. You’ll need salmon fillets, heavy cream, lemon zest, white wine, salt and pepper, garlic, chicken broth, olive oil, parmesan cheese, and parsley. Be ready for some especially tender salmon, since most of the cooking is done with the sauce!

You’ll want to start by placing your salmon fillets in the pan, skin side down, and cook it at high heat for 2 minutes on each side. Then add every other ingredient except for the lemon zest and parsley. Leave to simmer. Then reduce heat until slightly thickened. Finally, sprinkle on the lemon zest and fresh parsley on top. Voila, you’re ready to go!

Dairy-Free Creamy Lemon Sauce Salmon

You won’t need to worry about dietary restrictions at the next family dinner. This recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free, paleo, and whole 30 friendly! I hope you are in a tropical mood because this crispy salmon is cooked with coconut cream and nutmeg. It’ll take you less than 15 minutes to prepare! Ideal for a busy day.

The ingredients are salmon fillets, salt and pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, coconut cream, lemon juice, fresh parsley, and nutmeg. This absolutely delicious combination will leave you with a refreshing and comforting meal to share with your loved ones.

You’ll have to cook the fish separately for this dish. First, you should season the salmon with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Sear it on a pan for 4 minutes on each side. Then make the creamy sauce. Add all the remaining ingredients and let it boil for around 3 minutes. Now all you have to do is mix the salmon with the sauce. Congrats, you’re ready to enjoy!

Salmon With Creamy Garlic and Herbs Sauce

Another recipe with a dash of white wine, and we’re here for it. This flavor combination is perfect for a cold wintery night! Garlic is always one of our favorite go-to ingredients, and herbs add a little freshness to the cream. Ready to hear what you’ll need?

To make this hearty dish you’ll need salmon fillets, garlic, parsley, white wine, chicken broth, tarragon, chervil, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, butter, and olive oil. You can choose to go with either skinless or crispy skin side salmon. Your pick!

Including prep time, this is another dish that shouldn’t take you longer than 15 minutes to complete. Start by pan-searing the salmon until your desired cooking point, just make sure to throw in a little butter before it’s fully done. It’ll add some absolutely delicious flavor when poured on top of the fish! Remove the salmon and reduce the heat, getting ready to prepare the sauce in that same pan. After making the creamy sauce, stir in the herbs and plate the meal!

Baked Salmon in Thai Red Curry Sauce

This baked salmon recipe is absolutely delicious and aromatic. It leaves a truly fresh flavor in your mouth. If that wasn’t enough, this one is also lactose-free, using coconut milk instead of heavy cream. And it only takes 30 minutes to make!

You will need salmon steaks, coriander, spring onions, fresh chili, shallots or purple onion, garlic, galangal or ginger, lime leaves, coconut milk, fish sauce, cumin, chili powder, brown sugar, and lime or lemon juice.

The salmon will end up tender and 100% tasty since it’s baked with part of the sauce. You should start by making the red curry sauce as you blend all of its ingredients together. Then, pour ¼ of it into a casserole where you’ll bake the fish for 20 to 30 minutes. Once it’s done, you just have to heat the extra sauce and pour it onto the plated fish. You’ll love this recipe if you’re into Asian fusion flavors!

20-Minute Creamy Dijon Salmon

This recipe is perfect to complement with a portion of hearty pasta and serve warm on a wintery day. A creamy sauce simply screams comfort food, right? The sweet hints of the mustard go pair wonderfully with the subtle flavor of the salmon, making for a truly special meal.

You’ll need fresh salmon fillets, flour, garlic butter or powder, salt and pepper to taste, olive oil, butter, chicken broth, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, Dijon mustard, heavy cream, and fresh parsley.

First sprinkle the salmon fillets with salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Then drench them in flour. Add butter and oil to the skillet and cook your fish for about 4 minutes on each side at medium-high temperature. Make sure not to overcook it! Then set it aside. Now make the cream before adding the salmon back into the pan. Reduce heat to a low simmer and leave it to cook for a few more minutes. Get ready, you should serve it immediately!

30-Minute Creamy Sauce Tuscan Salmon

If tender and flaky salmon is your thing, plus a little Italian taste, this is the recipe for you. It’s a one-pan meal, meaning less cleaning afterward! Done in 30 minutes, packed full of healthy veggies, a smooth garlic sauce on top… this is heaven on earth. The salmon should be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfect to make even the little ones happy. Be sure not to remove the skin though, as it will protect the fish from overcooking!

For this hearty dish, you’ll need salmon fillets, olive oil, salt and pepper, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, capers, paprika, and heavy cream. What a flavor punch, right?

First bake the fillets on the skillets, searing them until flaky and crispy. Once the salmon is done, after around 5 minutes on each side, remove it from the heat. Then, you’ll have to add the ingredients for the creamy Tuscan sauce to that same, now empty, pan. Cook the veggies first, then add the cream and paprika and bring to simmer. To finish it off, add the cooked salmon back into the pan and simmer for one or two more minutes. That’s it, now you can enjoy the meal!

Blackened Salmon in Creamy Cajun

The 30-minute salmon dish feels buttery and juicy on its own, but the creamy cajun sauce adds extra moisture and a bold flavor. The earthiness from this seasoning complements nicely with the rich protein, making for a comforting yet speedy meal ready to be made on any busy weeknight.

You’ll need skinless salmon fillets, olive oil, butter, the blackened seasoning, garlic, bell peppers, red onion, cornstarch, parsley, chicken broth, heavy cream, tomatoes, lime, or lemon juice, and parmesan cheese.

In order to blacken your salmon, you’ll have to do a spice rub and cook it in a pan for around 4 minutes on each side at medium-high heat. This will leave it crispy and extra tasty! Then you’ll need to make the creamy cajun sauce in that same skillet or pan, while the salmon sits out of the heat in a thin foil. Once the sauce is ready, add the fish back into the pan and cook for a minute to heat and set flavors properly. All you need to do is add the lime juice and fresh parsley and you’re good to go!

Creamy Honey Mustard Salmon

This light, sweet, and tangy creamy honey mustard sauce will elevate your cream sauce salmon game to the next level. The whole dish is done in just 20 minutes! It’ll save you from ordering takeout on any busy weekday. This recipe can also be made with chicken broth instead of milk, just in case you ran out of it while making your morning latte.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need: salmon fillets, olive oil, Dijon mustard, greek style or light cream cheese, lemon juice, honey, milk, salt and pepper, and basil.

Start by cooking the salmon over medium-high heat for 4 minutes on each side. Then transfer it to a plate and lower the heat to add ingredients to the pan for the sauce. Once the creamy sauce is ready, pour over the salmon generously. You can save some for later as it goes well with pretty much anything!
