Salmon is one of the simplest proteins to prepare, after all, which gives this type of fish the ability to transform into almost anything, including a juicy burger.

Salmon Patties Require Four Simple Ingredients

Canned salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, and egg –– that’s all you will need to create salmon patties at home. We’re willing to bet you can find almost all of the ingredients in your kitchen –– but if you’re missing something, your local supermarket will surely have it.

Spice them up

Choose a few of your favorite spices and add them to the mix. No matter what you pick, you can’t go wrong. Consider a Dijon mustard and white vinegar mix; or some dill, garlic, and onion to pack a punch.

On a bun –– or on their own

Depending on what you’re in the mood for, treat a salmon patty like a burger and serve it on a bun with all the fixings (lettuce, tomato, onion) and a side of fries; or go light with a side salad, steamed greens, and a garlic aioli for dipping.

Freeze them for later

Forget everything you’ve been told about reheating fish. Salmon patties don’t play by the rules. They can be frozen for weeks and reheated in the oven, on a skillet, or (gasp!) even in the microwave.
